• Resolved Question: Do you like your name?

  I’m bored and I saw someone else post a question like this a few hours ago, so =)

  Do you like your name? Were you named after anyone or is there a special meaning to your name? Would you ever change it?

  My name is Jessica Iris Noelia Garcia-Kolacsky. Long, I know. With my friends I go by Jessica Kolacsky, with my family I go by Iris Noelia Garcia-Kolacsky. It can get kind of confusing sometimes, but I love having such a long name and so many ways of putting it together. It’s part of my ethnicity. I don’t think I’d change my name. I like it and I’m named after so many amazing people in my family. (Except Jessica)

  Jessica – it kinda went with my brothers’ names (Josh and Jason)
  Iris – my moms first name, as well as my grandmothers and great aunts
  Noelia – my moms and great aunts middle names
  Garcia – my moms maiden name
  Kolacsky – my parents last name
  I got both, making my name one word longer than it would normally be =)

• Resolved Question: Is “Iris Noelia” a weird name?

  My name is actually Jessica Iris Noelia Kolacsky, but I like to go by Iris Noelia. One of my sort of friends said it sounded really weird and I’d get teased a lot. I don’t know if I should believe her or not, but should I stick with Iris Noelia or just go with Jessica?
  I know it’s weird, my first name being Jessica. But I’ve been called Iris Noelia by my family for my entire life. It’s just school I’m worried about.
