Open Question: vanilla visa gift card question?

i bought a 50 dollar vanilla visa gift card and when i tried to buy some thing on ebay it said error then when i checked the card balance it said pospreauth checking no account what does that mean. now i only have a doller on the card. i know i can use them on ebay cause i used the hundred doller cards before. will i be able to get my money back
